Expect travel delays in Quebec Sunday as snow complicates road conditions
It won't be an ideal day to be out and about in southern Quebec as a potent system will do everything it can to ensure travelling, and even just walking outside, will be quite arduous.

Anywhere from 10-30+ cm of snow is possible in Quebec through Sunday, depending on location. Weather travel advisories and snowfall warnings are in place.
Consider changing non-essential travel plans to avoid the worst of the snow impacts on Sunday. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
Sunday: Snow continues, switch back to rain possibleWe saw widespread, steady snow push in across southern and eastern Quebec by early Sunday morning. Folks from Montreal and the Eastern Townships, up the river toward Quebec City, woke up to heavy snowfall rates.
In fact, Quebec City has already seen 14 accumulate as of 10 a.m. on Sunday.

The heaviest snow will move up the St. Lawrence toward Quebec City through the day. It threatens to be the one of top 10 snowiest days for Quebec City during March.
Periods of snowfall continues across the Eastern Townships and Montreal through Sunday evening, then becoming more scattered on Monday.
Marginal temperatures will likely decrease snowfall amounts around the Montreal area, but significant totals are still forecast farther up the St. Lawrence, especially north of Trois-Rivieres. It is looking likely that downtown Montreal will see 5-10 cm of snowfall, with more across higher terrain.

This snowfall will be highly influenced by changes in elevation, with higher terrain surrounding the St. Lawrence Seaway receiving substantially more wet snow.
Much heavier accumulations are expected in the Eastern Townships, Quebec City and Gaspé, where 15-30+ cm of snow is expected.

Looking ahead, early next week will see conditions on the cooler side of seasonal, then trending warmer with well above-seasonal temperatures for a few days ahead of another system late next week or next weekend.
A much colder pattern is expected to develop around the official first day of spring, continuing through the end of March and into early April.
