House races to avert shutdown as Trump, Biden travel to border: Live coverage

The House is set to vote Thursday on a stopgap funding bill that would avert a shutdown this weekend by punting a pair of funding deadlines later into March.

House Republicans are also set to meet for the first time in weeks and will discuss how to fund the government through the end of the fiscal year — a months-long battle that has divided the Congress and been among Speaker Mike Johnson's (R-La.) biggest headaches.

Also on Thursday, President Biden and former President Trump are set to make dueling trips to the U.S.-Mexico border as immigration remains a top issue on the campaign trail.
