CIA Director Cancels Travel to 'Provide Support to the President' Amid Israel Crisis
Central Intelligence Agency Director William Burns canceled plans to attend an intelligence conference in Georgia on Saturday because of the crisis in the Middle East.
"Director Burns remained in Washington to help provide support to the president and national security discussions as the crisis in Israel unfolds," a CIA spokeswoman said.
Burns is a former ambassador to Jordan and headed the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the State Department.
